India Election Results 2024 Live Updates: ‘First time since 1962 any government has come to power for third time after completing its two terms’ says PM Modi
As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prepares to form the central government for a third consecutive term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech to the BJP party workers. PM Modi commenced his address by chanting “Bharat Mata ji Jai” and “Jai Jagannath”.
During his speech at the BJP headquarters, he said, “Today is a very auspicious day and the NDA is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. We are all thankful to the public for this. People of nation have reposed their faith in the BJP and the NDA, and our victory is win of the world’s biggest democracy.”
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the citizens of India for placing their trust in the BJP and the NDA, emphasizing the significance of this victory for the world’s largest democracy.
The outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections presents a sobering reality for the BJP, which appears to fall short of the majority mark of 272, despite the ruling alliance’s readiness to form the government. This contrasts sharply with the BJP’s dominant performance in 2019 when it secured 303 seats independently, with the NDA crossing the 350-seat threshold.
Significant setbacks for the BJP are evident in its traditional strongholds of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Conversely, the party has made notable strides in states like Odisha, Telangana, and Kerala, indicating a mixed electoral performance across different regions.
On the other hand, the unified opposition bloc under the banner of INDIA, driven by their collective resistance against the BJP and its policies, has secured leads in approximately 230 seats. This coalition has achieved substantial gains in various states, posing a formidable challenge to the BJP’s dominance.
